The Vietnamese government has not moved toward legalizing medical cannabis, and there are no discussions about marijuana decriminalization at present. Weed trafficking is treated as a serious crime, and cannabis cultivation is illegal in Danang. Vietnam’s marijuana laws remain among the strictest in Southeast Asia, and the country continues to enforce a zero-tolerance policy toward cannabis use.

Law Enforcement
Danang is said to be one of the safest cities in Vietnam and you will rarely see any police patrols.
On China Beach, it was safe to smoke out of the city – on the way to HoiAn (eg. the beach at Hoas’ Place). It also goes ok with the bonfire which is lit up almost every night.
